The inaugural meeting of the URBREATH consortium marked the beginning of a collaborative journey under the banner of urban greening and re-naturing, aimed at fostering urban regeneration, resilience, and climate neutrality. This significant event was part of a larger gathering, the Cluster Meeting, which brought together all initiatives funded under the “Urban greening and re-naturing for urban regeneration, resilience and climate neutrality” theme (HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-CITIES-01-01).
During this assembly, the URBREATH team was delighted to share and develop foundational synergy guidelines with delegates from two pioneering projects: GreenInCities which focuses on employing holistic, data-driven, co-creative methods in nature-based solutions for climate adaptation and mitigation, and ReGreeneration, which is dedicated to ushering in the next wave of green, resilient, and socially inclusive smart cities.
In collaboration with these esteemed projects and under the guidance of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), we are committed to advancing the objectives set forth by two Mission Cities and the EU’s Mission: Adaptation to Climate Change. Together, we aim to harness the power of nature-based solutions to tackle critical urban challenges such as the heat island effect, flooding, biodiversity loss, and the revitalization of underprivileged neighborhoods.
