We are excited to announce that URBREATH will participate in the upcoming Open & Agile Smart Cities & Communities (OASC) Summit 2024, scheduled for June 3-4 in Rotterdam. Additionally, we are proud to be a sponsor of this significant event!
This year’s theme, connecting local digital ecosystems through interoperability, highlights OASC’s commitment to support cities and local communities to collaborate on digital transformation via the fluent sharing of data in and between cities and local communities. The event will look into the strategies, processes and technologies that can help cities to do that. The main goal is to align as many cities as possible into that philosophy and concept and help cities to overcome the hurdles that block them from interoperability.
Why our presence at the OASC Summit 2024 is important.
URBREATH’s presence at the Summit is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, as a Horizon Europe project, URBREATH is at the forefront of efforts to enhance social interactions, inclusion, equitability, and livability in urban environments. By putting communities at the center of decision-making for sustainable development, URBREATH embodies the spirit of the Summit’s theme, which focuses on connecting local digital ecosystems through interoperability.
Secondly, URBREATH’s comprehensive approach, which includes community participation and Nature-Based Solutions, aligns closely with the objectives of the Summit. These methodological approaches, augmented by social innovation practices, digital twins, and artificial intelligence tools, demonstrate innovative strategies for addressing urban challenges.
Moreover, URBREATH’s participation in the Summit provides a tangible example of how interoperability is essential for achieving its goals. Interoperability, goes beyond technical capabilities to encompass organizational cooperation, shared innovation mindsets, and seamless information exchange. URBREATH’s experiences and insights can contribute significantly to the exploration of interoperability’s various layers and the identification of necessary steps for cities and local communities to advance in data and knowledge sharing.
