URBREATH will build up on the existing techniques used to assess NBS by pushing them as far as possible in the direction of the main objective of delivering enhanced operational functionalities of NBS, by combining them with recent advances in statistical physics.

URBREATH will use a reliable statistical technique to provide 40 climate projections, considering various models and scenarios to capture uncertainties in climate simulation. Additionally, for weather forecasts, it will assess different Numerical Weather Prediction Models from reputable sources and adjust their information to fit specific locations using historical data. URBREATH aims to offer daily deterministic forecasts up to 10 days in advance and probabilistic forecasts up to 6 months ahead, updating the information regularly.

URBREATH is enhancing methods to create representative weather files, considering typical and extreme climate conditions. It uses high-resolution regional climate models for unbiased impact assessment in various sectors like engineering and socioeconomic applications.

URBREATH will address gaps in community resilience by using a flexible framework for exposure modeling and impact assessment. It incorporates a dynamic population model, considering factors like age, race, disabilities, and socioeconomic characteristics. The approach also includes a comprehensive model of the local and regional economy, accounting for different business sectors and their vulnerability to disruptions.

URBREATH will create and test a financial framework, represented as a canvas, to gather evidence and attract various investors. This framework aims to identify revenue sources, establish a viable financial model, outline financial opportunities, and develop case-specific pathways aligned with sustainable investments and reporting. New business models will be collaboratively developed based on this canvas to facilitate effective implementation.

URBREATH will develop a digital Twin tool adapted in the use cases and methodology capable of seamlessly integrating simulation models and of making the method and results available in an understandable way to all users.

URBREATH will create an innovative NBS KPI Catalogue, connected to a robust data and monitoring system, to effectively handle KPIs and solutions.
