From 11–14 March 2024, Aquatech Amsterdam brought together global leaders, experts, and innovators in water technology. As one of the most significant industry events, it provided a platform for knowledge exchange and the presentation of cutting-edge solutions.
This year, URBREATH partner KAMK (Kajaani University of Applied Sciences) participated alongside other Finnish organisations, presenting innovative projects aimed at advancing sustainable water solutions.
Highlighting URBREATH: A Focus on Snowmelt Water Treatment
Among the showcased initiatives was URBREATH, which was promoted as part of KAMK’s contributions for its pioneering work in snowmelt water treatment, particularly within the pilot project in Kajaani.
With cities increasingly facing environmental challenges due to climate change and urbanisation, effective water treatment solutions are essential. The URBREATH project focuses on optimising the purification of snowmelt water, which often carries pollutants from roads and urban surfaces. By developing efficient treatment methods, the project aims to improve water quality and contribute to sustainable urban environments.
A Collaborative Effort for a Sustainable Future
KAMK’s participation at Aquatech Amsterdam, in collaboration with other Finnish organisations, highlights Finland’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability and water innovation. By sharing knowledge and showcasing successful pilot projects like URBREATH, Finnish experts contribute to global efforts in water conservation and smart urban planning.
