URBREATH Poster Approved for NOCCA 2025: Showcasing Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Snowmelt Runoff

URBREATH Poster Approved for NOCCA 2025: Showcasing Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Snowmelt Runoff

We are pleased to announce that our partner, Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK), has had its poster, “Co-Creation of Nature-Based Solutions for Managing Urban Snowmelt Runoff: A Pilot Study within the URBREATH Project,” officially approved for presentation at the Nordic Conference on Climate Change Adaptation (NOCCA 2025), 4-15 May 2025, at the Lappia Hall in Rovaniemi, Finland.

About NOCCA 2025

The Nordic Conference on Climate Change Adaptation (NOCCA 2025) is a key event that brings together researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals to discuss strategies for adapting to climate change. It serves as a platform for sharing innovative approaches, best practices, and collaborative solutions aimed at building climate-resilient societies.

URBREATH’s Contribution

Our approved poster highlights the co-creation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for managing urban snowmelt runoff—a critical environmental challenge for cold-climate cities. As part of the URBREATH project, this research explores sustainable and efficient methods to improve water quality and mitigate the impacts of urban snowmelt runoff through nature-inspired interventions.

Next Steps

With this approval, URBREATH will be featured at NOCCA 2025, contributing to discussions on how cities can better adapt to climate-related challenges. We look forward to sharing our findings, exchanging insights with experts, and further developing our solutions in collaboration with the Nordic climate adaptation community.

Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for NOCCA 2025!
