The fifth edition of Compromisos con el Clima took place in Madrid on 14 November 2025, inviting citizens to imagine and propose “the unthinkable” — bold, unconventional solutions to the climate crisis. This year’s theme highlighted ideas that challenge our assumptions: a river with legal personality, algae-based bricks, architect bacteria, and other innovative concepts that once seemed unimaginable.
In this vibrant and inspiring setting, the Madrid team presented the URBREATH project. The presentation introduced the project’s vision, its citizen-science methodology, and the potential of URBREATH to contribute to healthier and more equitable urban environments.
URBREATH was featured as an example of how scientific research, local engagement, and technological innovation can come together to address complex environmental challenges. The project’s collaborative approach aligns strongly with the event’s call to rethink what is possible in the fight against climate change.
