Marcella Bonanomi from our partners at the Lisbon Council recently participated in a policy workshop titled “The Implications of Temperature Overshoot for Adaptation”, organised by the EU project PROVIDE on 27 June 2024. This workshop aimed to update stakeholders on the latest findings of the PROVIDE project, showcase PROVIDE case studies, and gather feedback on the Climate Risk Dashboard and its new adaptation module.
During the workshop, Marcella Bonanomi shared insights about the URBREATH project, emphasising its goal to place communities at the forefront of decision-making processes for regional and local sustainable development. By directly engaging communities, URBREATH strives to create more resilient, inclusive, and vibrant urban environments, ensuring that development strategies align with the needs and aspirations of all residents.
This community-focused approach not only enhances the quality of urban life but also fosters a sense of ownership and participation among community members, which is crucial for the successful implementation of sustainable development goals.
