On 26 November 2025, the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) participated in the event “Cambio climático y colectivos vulnerables”, organised under the initiative Fundaciones por el Clima. This conference brought together foundations, civil-society organizations, and experts to address one of today’s most urgent challenges: how to strengthen climate-change adaptation for the most vulnerable groups, who are often the first and most severely affected by climate impacts.
During the session, UPM presented URBREATH, outlining the innovative tools and strategies being developed to improve air quality, foster healthier urban environments, and support communities disproportionately affected by environmental risks.
The event featured practical case studies and open discussions on translating adaptation needs into actionable, community-relevant solutions. UPM’s contribution showcased how research and technological innovation can help bridge the gap between data and decision-making, ensuring that vulnerable communities are not left behind in the climate transition.
