We are proud to announce that URBREATH Pilot City Pilsen has been selected as one of the 24 cities participating in the NetZeroCities (NZC) Twinning Learning Programme – Cohort 5, in recognition of its strong engagement in the URBREATH and Climaborough projects.
This selection marks an important milestone in Pilsen’s journey toward climate neutrality and strengthens its position within the European network of cities driving ambitious climate action.
What Is the Twinning Learning Programme?
The NetZeroCities Twinning Learning Programme is a 12-month deep knowledge exchange initiative connecting selected Twin Cities with EU Mission Cities committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2030.
The programme includes:
- A structured series of thematic workshops
- One-to-one exchanges between paired cities
- Two funded study visits (one to the Mission City and one to the Twin City)
- Opportunities to explore governance models, financing mechanisms, digital tools, and stakeholder engagement practices
Pairings will be confirmed in summer 2026, with the programme officially launching in autumn 2026.
Matchmaking with Mission Cities – Spring 2026
As a next step, Pilsen will participate in a series of online Matchmaking Days, where it will present its key climate actions and explore collaboration opportunities with Mission Cities.
Invitation to the Cities Mission Conference – Turin, 27–29 May 2026
Pilsen has also been invited to attend the Cities Mission Conference in Turin, an exclusive event gathering Mission Cities, Twin Cities, European Commission representatives, and leading climate experts.
Strengthening Pilsen’s Climate Leadership
Pilsen’s selection reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to:
- Sustainable mobility and urban resilience
- Innovative governance and climate financing
- Data-driven climate solutions
- Cross-sector collaboration
Through URBREATH Pilsen has demonstrated both ambition and practical implementation capacity — key qualities that position the city as a strong partner in the European climate transition.
We look forward to the next steps in the Twinning Learning Programme and to building meaningful partnerships with Mission Cities across Europe.
Stay tuned for updates as Pilsen advances its climate neutrality journey.
