Co-Creating Greener Cities: A Creative Living Lab Experience in Cluj-Napoca

Co-Creating Greener Cities: A Creative Living Lab Experience in Cluj-Napoca

On the opening day of the URBREATH General Assembly in Cluj-Napoca, representatives from all nine pilot cities came together for a truly unique workshop experience. Designed to demonstrate the transformative power of Living Lab methodologies, the City Forum workshop invited participants to step into the shoes of local stakeholders and reimagine urban spaces using nature-based solutions (NBS) and URBREATH’s Digital Twin tool.

With sketching, storytelling, and virtual exploration at its core, the session created space for creativity and empathy to flourish. Participants explored real urban challenges using Google Street View, collaborated on inclusive solutions using base maps and coloured markers, and shared their ideas in an engaging gallery-style format. The result? A fresh perspective on the power of participatory design and the practical application of the URBREATH co-creation process.
